Whats a good automatic 4 cyl car?

I live in AUS, and im planningto buy a new car under $30k, i need some advice from those gurus though, at the moment, i've been checking out, the Golf, Subaru & Civic. However if you have got any car suggestion or other types, please feel free to open up.

Toyota Prius . . .I don't know if you can get them in Australia. The gas mileage is phenomenal -- 45-55 miles per gallon (70-85 kilometers roughly I think). I don't know the value of the Aussie $, so I can't say what the cost would be. Good Luck.

I would go with the Civic.

I would think GAS ECONOMY first and then think of your need second such as space, etc. I would go with Japanese made car, and Hybred. Honda Civic is nice. Toyota Preus is nice. Also think of investing something NOW and save it on the LONG RUN. Japanese cars are well known for HIGH reputation and quality that can serve you as long as you take good care of it.
