Whats a good begginer bass guitar for around 100 pounds?

i know its a little cheap but i have to buy an amp too, but i dont need any help buying a bass.

That seems heavy for a guitar.  My Les Paul wears me out and that only weighs about 12 pounds.

I'm kidding.  Do they have Craigs List in the UK?  Buy something used and have a more experienced player go with you to check it out.

Instruments at the entry level can vary greatly.  One particular model may be good sometimes and lousy others.
