Whats a good blue ray player to get?

I seen some of their selections at circuit city. the sony one looks very different from what im use to. they were playing ice age and although the color and the look was very sharp, the whole thing looked very funny and in a way laggy. i know that the frame rates are much faster in blue ray then dvd players but the ice age movie just didnt look and feel great to me. they were playing blue ya samson with pirates of the carribean and i was blown away. it was beautiful in almost everyway and didnt have that laggy feel the sony one had? i might be wrong on the sony player, but do you guys have a recommendation for a good blue ray player?
