Whats a good book for graphic designers ?

I have 2 and a half years of experience working with photoshop but I have never had any formal training, I will be starting college spring 2009 to study graphic design, but I want to get a head start now, whats a good book or magazine for graphic designers so I can start learning some of the basics now ? something that I can pick up from barnes and nobles.

  1. Creative Review...? My Graphics teacher (who is a graphic designer) gets them and brings them all in. It's more for like examples and stuff though, I think...
