  1. I've personally very happy with with Hixley Electronics SVIC S720HDC or S720H models.

Both XGA resolution and £370 or £300 cant go wrong!

Whats your purpose for the unit?

  2. See the links for a list of under $1000 XGA  (Link 1) and SVGA (Link 2) projectors.  You can do your own searches on this site using other criteria as well.

Note that you may finde better prices on discontinued or refurbished models, so I suggest looking at models in the $600 range and then looking for a sale.

There are no sub $500 XGA models listed, althoughone or two sub $500 SVGA.

As to whether the higher resolution is worth it ... it depends on what you plan to do with it.

If you want for business presentations the higher resolution really only matters if you present lots of small type (e.g. spreadsheet data). For movies the extra resolution will allow a larger screen size.

    Hope this helps.
