  1. I agree with jana - those "good excuses" are usually something like "I'm going through massive chemo treatments and can't be around others because my immune system is down to zero right now".  This is called Homebound Education.

Ask if your school offers independent study - this is where you pick up your weekly assignments and drop it off.  Due to the rise of online charters, fewer and fewer schools are offering this; however, check into it.

Otherwise, you may be able to enroll for a semester or a year with an online public charter.  It's still public school, but you do it online.  If you can tell us which state you live in, we can point you toward any resources that may be available.  (You would have to do this for a semester or full year, rather than the first month or two.)

  2. They usually only offer this for medical conditions. Call the district office and ask if they have an independent study program available. You could always join an online cyber school and transfer back in when you are ready. Here is a list of free programs and the states that offer them.

  3. There are not many reasons that justify that.  You will need to get a doctors statement or a therapists to write a referall to allow you to in my state.  They are hard to get unless you have a good reason.

I dont know what your issues are, but sometimes you feel like hiding just when you need to get out the most.

Its harder than you think to just do your homework out of the text and not hear the lecture or the class comments.

I believe you should either homeschool all year or public school all year. I think its not a good idea to bounce around or to teach yourself that when things get hard to take the easy route.
