  1. You'd be better off building one if you're trying to keep it under $800... I'm not sure that's going to be possible even with a custom built machine.  The CPU alone's gonna run you most of that if not more.

You're gonna want a solid graphics card, at least 2GB of memory, and a core duo processor would work.  You might be able to get away with less, but I wouldn't recommend it - then again I haven't looked at the specs for those games in recent history, so who knows?

  2. try this

  3. your gana have to build one..its as easy as playing with legos.got to like frys, newegg, tigerdirect then pick out.

    1.a case

2.a motherboard(you'll have to decide if you want intel or amd with your buget go with amd more power for the money)also make sure the mobo has pci-e(for the video card youll need)

3.a 500watt or better power supply

4.ram (4 gigs if your gana use vista 2 will do if your gana use xp)

5.your proccesor get the amd 6400+ (best duel core amd sells about $150)quad cores arnt as fast as the duel core yeat for gamming and cost more

6a video card (most important for gaming)id go with nvidea not to cheep or crysis is out of the question.

    7.a dvd drive

    8.a hard drive probably sata

a couple of notes:be picky on the mobo get an asus if you can afford it if not get gigabite.also make sure it has pci-e that can run sli(so you can add another video card later when you can afford it)also make sure it uses ddr2 or ddr3 and buy your ram accordingly.also if your going to go with the amd cpu youll want a am2 or am2+ motherboard(its the pin configuration on the motherboard that matches the cpus pins) good luck if you feel you cant build it on your own ask a few friend that know about computer a bit more than you to help.everything only fits into one place on the board so its not that hard to build.

  4. if you already have a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, thats not too hard. oblivion is not too tall an order either. i'd say skimp on the case, skimp on the keyboard and mouse, skimp on the hard drive, get only 2gb of ram, then get a q6600 and overclock it and then a 4870x2, or at least a 4870, and 800 is doable.

  5. I'm assuming you're in the states so I'll link everything from newegg, if you're in Canada or something try ncix, tigerdirect or a local store. If you're in Europe I have no idea where to order hardware from, look it up but the prices should be similar.

The sonata III is a great, affordable, nice-looking and sturdy case that on top of all that comes with a quality PSU. People swear by these, and it's on sale now. Get that. $100

The e8400 is a great, inexpensive, fast dual-core that overclocks well. **IF YOU AREN'T DOING VIDEO ENCODING OR 3D RENDERING DON'T WASTE MONEY ON A QUADCORE regardless of what people tell you** $170

500GB is plenty, nice cheap HDD at $70, WD is a fine brand

The DS3L is a great cheap motherboard from a good manufacturer that'll do everything you need and leave room for some future upgrading at a great price-point of $85

RAM is cheap nowadays, you don't need 1066, 800mhz is fine. $50 after rebate. Not a lot else to say.

A DVD burner is a DVD burner and it's $25, nothing to say

The 9800GTX is a solid card, eVGA is a great manufacturer with good warranties and their unique step up program. Lots of people will recommend you some of ATI's newer budget cards like the 4870 which are pretty f****n sweet I won't lie, but I personally hate dealing with ATI's poor driver support, so I'd just get this (or an 8800GT if you want to save some cash) $210 after rebate

So that's ~$710 after rebates and before taxes

Consider maybe $50 for peripherals (if you aren't just taking the ones from your old computer)

Change the video card to something cheaper if you need to (an 8800GT or a 4870 would be my recommendation)

There you have it. Should handle Crysis on High/Very High just fine, if that's your standard
