Whats a good gift to give your parents on your wedding day?

I have NEVER heard of giving your parents a gift on YOUR wedding day....that's weird.  Maybe a flower or something?  If my son got married, and gave ME a gift, I would find it very odd....it's HIS day, not mine!

i heard of giving gift to the parents but it is done at the rehearsal dinner.it is usually a picture frame or a gift certificate to there favorite restaurant.

I've never heard of this before!

The only thing that my husband and I did was we gave our mothers a rose during the ceremony.

Are your parents paying for it? I suppose that could make a difference. If you wanted to get them something. I suggest something pretty simple that will get used. Such as a gift certificate to a favorite resaraunt and a little note telling them thanks for being there through everything and that nothing can express your thankfulness, but you just wanted to take the time to show that you are greatful for all they have done to help raise you over the years. You get the idea, lol.

We bought my in-laws very nice gifts because they have contributed ALOT both monetary and in effort to the wedding, so we spent quite a bit on their gift.

For my FFIL, we bought him a silver scottish pocket watch with gold accents engraved with his initials. It was $251.00 an it's exquisite.

For my FMIL, I bought her a gold bracelet. It has starfish (we are decorating with starfish), so it matches the theme of our wedding. We spent $169 on it (it was a great deal, similar bracelets were $338, with the price of gold, it' s just ridiculous. I got it at BJ's)
