Whats a good hobby for an old lady?

shes 86 years old, is lonely and cant seem to make any friends. is there anything she can do to entertain herself?

She should find something that she can do and enjoys,  knitting, nettle point sewing etc.  Also bead work (with large enough beads can keep her hands and mind busy. Maybe she should consider a companion animal.

Well she should reflect back on her memories and try to help others from making the wrong mistakes in their lives since she has fully experienced life. (Dose she have any kids if so live or visit them). Hope I was of some help ^^

Indoor gardening. The right choice of plants will make them easy to grow and they'll help purify the air in her living environment. They can be chosen based on light availability in her home. For lower light, sansevieria is ideal. If she likes flowers she can raise African violets. The list goes on and on.

ok, Im only 34, but she can try what my hobby & passion is cross stitching. They have small projects to do. Although, I love the hard stuff, I do the prestamped, prequilted, cross stitch baby quilts.

does she have a space for a bird feeder?  My Mom absolutely LOVED watching and tending the birdfeeder.  It was the kind that attached to the window glass by suction cups, and she would sit and watch for hours.  And tell stories about "that hateful ol' blue bird"  and "that new red bird that had made friends already" as if they were her neighbors;
