Whats a good horror book?

i need a book to read and i have to get it from my high school library. so I'm looking for something that's a horror book but the story like "The Lottery" or something like M. knightsamolon (I dont no how to speel it) stuff. so please just give me some horron novle names. Thank You.

The Lottery was creepy. Have you seen Population 436? That's like kinda based on 'The Lottery"

It's freaky.

I would recommend Fear Street Series by R.L. Stine but I don't know if your into cheesy horror.

Like horror that's supposed to be scary but really is stupid.

I used to like those books but now I just hate them.

Good horror---okay--you MUST read books by Lois Duncan.

She. is. AMAZING.

One of her books---Who killed my Daughter?--is a TRUE story based on her OWN search of her daughter's murderer.

I have read many of her books and they are so good.

Like usually I can guess what's going to happen in most horror books.

Like "Marie walks down the hallway. It's pitch black and Marie's heart drums loudly against her chest."

Now--we all know something scary is going to happen. Like something jumps out of no where or Marie is found dead the next day.

But with Lois Duncan---I can never guess what's going to happen.

She is just that good.

R.L. Stine even said that Lois Duncan was one of his favorite authors when he was a kid.
