Something that will make me want to drive back to LA for everytime? I'm from San Diego and now I live in NY but I always think of my favorite food spots that I miss. I'm going to LA soon and want to try a local favorite. Don't say PINKS I'm not a hot dog fan.

Thanks =)

  1. You can go Kastori.

  2. Since you're from SD, you probably like Mexican food (I'm hoping) and since you live in NY you probably miss it!  I love El Cholo in Santa Monica (about $15 per entree) and they have great food and drinks, housed in a huge mission-style building.  Tito's Tacos is fun too for fast-food Mexican, in Culver City - there is always long line of Tito's fans.

    If you like sushi I can't say enough about Takao in Brentwood.  I think it's better than Nobu and it's more casual.  Incredible fish!  A bit pricey though.

    If you like middle eastern food I highly recommend Sunnin Lebanese Cafe in Westwood.  This is a low key diner style spot with delicious salads, kebabs and vegetable dishes.  Very inexpensive.  Taverna Tony's is a lot of fun too - Greek food in Malibu with a band, belly dancer and nice bar (about $30 per person).  And if you're in the mood for something special (and high end) La Cachette is a wonderful French restaurant in Century City.

    These are my staples, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

  3. try islands and curritos. i think thats what its called.
