  1. All major brokerage firms provide their clients with on-line services, including trading platforms, latest market & financial news and research.

Customer need to select the site that is best for them.  Traders have requirements in a site, while investors have other requirements.

Although most sites are geared to general securities and commodities, however customers may have special needs for the types of products they trade, and the markets in which they trade.

It seems that the most popular firms for on-line investing all of which provide excellent platforms and services are; Scottrade; Chas.Schwab; TDAmeritrade; Fidelity; E-Trade and Thinkorswim.

  2. Depends on your skill level...If your a complete noob then go with optionsxpress.com, They offer the best tools, strategies and even training (but comission per trade is like 15 dollars!)

But if you know how to trade and have external tool sources then you should either go with choicetrade.com or zecco.com

  3. I use Firstrade.  Customer service is great.  It was rated as the top online broker by Consumer Reports.  I used to use Scottrade, but I transferred over because not only does Firstrade offer slightly lower rates, but it also offers free DRIPs (dividend reinvestment plan) while Scottrade doesn't.

  4. I use Thinkorswim. They have the best analytical tools out there and the commission is $5.00 a trade. They have been voted #1 by Barron's for the last two years. They also don't limit your activity the way the others do.

  5. I used Think or Swim. This on line broker's information is real time.

  6. I use TDAmeritrade (great research, 9.99 a trade)  Zecco.com has 10 free trades a month (4.95 after that, but some cathces) etrade and scottrade are some other ones!
