  1. at least 750 fps rating

  2. IMO the "Diana" RWS 34 is the best air rifle within your price range

You get a powerful, accurate, very durable air rifle.

If you would like a multi-pump pneumatic, the Benjamin 392(.22) or 397(.177) are very nice rifles

Entry level air rifles with reasonable power and reasonable accuracy, include. The Crosman Phantom, Storms, Quest, etc and the Ruger Air Hawk. Just don't expect a well made, durable rifle

You can check out any of the above rifles at

An inexpensive air rifle that will still be powerful enough for pest control & or small game hunting is the Tech Force 34(TF34) .177(850fps)

Later: <added> It would cost you $25 more to buy the RWS 34 + RWS 4x32 scope and C-mount

You can buy a $100 rifle, then in a year or two, if it lasts that long, you get to buy another, then another, so on and so forth. Or you can buy one RWS 34 that will last you a lifetime, and will still be a great rifle when your kids hand it down to theirs.

The Dianawerks** has been building quality airguns since 1890. RWS rifles come with a lifetime warranty. There is a pretty good chance they will be around to stand behind that guarantee.

    >>I want a scope<<

IMO, The Benjamin 392/397 are better suited to a peep sight

  3. Diana is best,

    or get any other 0.2

  4. one that shoots.

something like a Crossman break open that shoots a pellet quite fast almost like ta .22

  5. I prefer my Crosman Quest 1000x for any kind of pest control. I've killed anything from rats to rabbits with only a single shot. It's a break barrel rifle, though. So 1 shot is all you get.

Personally, I'm not much of a rifle person. I removed the stock to make it a pistol grip and I basically use it like a shotgun. This lessened the weight and I'm very happy with it. It's a somewhat heavy gun.

If you want something a little bit lighter with just a little bit less power, you might look into the Crosman 760. That's a cute little rifle that still gets the job done. It's a pump one, not a break barrel.

  6. Crossman pump.  I have one that I got at 10years old. I am now 63.  I have replace the leather gaskets 5 times. It will put a .117 pellet thru a 1" pine board with 9 pumps. I have killed squirrels, rabbits, foxes, snakes, coyotes, ground hogs, pigeons, and rats with it.  I know they make multi shot whiz bang pellet guns, I have one that looks like a Thompson. Cool little fun gun for plinking.  I still use the old Crossman for pests.

  7. It depends on what kind of pest. If the pests are gophers, a pellet gun would injure/kill it. If it is a pigeon, shoot it in the chest, and then shoot it again when its lying on the ground. (in the head). .177 caliber pellet rifle or .22 pellet rifle. These two guns come in the highest velocity of 500 feet per second without having to have a firearms license. If you have your firearms license, then you can get any pellet gun. If you want to shoot varmints, get a .22 rifle.

  8. Do you live in the states? If you don't a .22 airgun would be your best option but it has to be rated at a high velocity or it's not going to do you any good. You could always get a .22LR rifle and get those really super-quiet rounds.
