Whats a good place to visit 2-3 hours outside LA?

It's not that far, but check out Catalina Island off the coast of Long Beach. there is a ferry that will take you there, no cars on the island. I was there for only 1 day, but could have spent more time if I had it. I went para-sailing there, it was soooo fun.

If you are willing to go 4 hrs, you can see Las Vegas.

Or, maybe spend a few days at a spa in Palm Springs.

If you are really adventurous, go to Tijuana

Santa Barbara, San Diego, Malibu. If you do go to Malibu, go the Getty Villa, it's amazing there but you need reservations for the tickets and parking's eight dollars.

Palm Springs/ Palm Desert- nice resort towns, hot weather, good environment

Big Bear lake- has cute cottages and hotels, very laid back lake town. You can rent a boat on the lake, or go into town, lots of trails, usually warm weather in the summer, snows in the winter.

San Clemente or San Diego- beach towns with lots of hotels
