  1. No trinkets please. Teachers get a lot of stuff over the years for X-mas and at the end of the year.

Gift cards for bookstores or restaurants, fruit basket, potted plant, no candy...

  2. As a teacher myself, I've always loved gift cards to special places...such as Starbucks (should the teacher like coffee).   I've also received a truly beautiful hanging plant, which really tops the list.  My best advice is something that is useful!  I have many trinkets in a box that I cannot bring myself to throw away, but too many to display around my home.  I rotate them now and again, but if you're asking for ideas....a gift card or outdoor hanging basket would be ideal and much appreciated!!

  3. I usually give my favorite teachers gift cards to a nice restraunt.

Or if I really like them, I would get them a cute teacher mug with some chocolate inside. But decorate it cute and make sure its good chocolate =)

  4. Gussie's answer is perfect!

I'm a teacher (this is my 11th year) and though I appreciate getting whatever gifts my students give me, I cannot possibly keep all of the "Best Teacher in the World" knick knacks or eat all of the chocolates I'm given. I have a 7 year old and I have given his teachers gift certificates to bookstores, Wal Mart, Starbucks, Jamba Juice, Cold Stone Creamery, etc. Gift cards are ALWAYS useful and appreciated! Better yet, they don't take up space and the teacher doesn't have to feel guilty about not being able to display all of the trinkets s/he has received over the years.  The gift card doesn't have to be for $50...even $5 or $10 is appreciated. My son has a teacher, an aide, 3 after school care providers, and the health clerk (he has asthma and she has to give him nebulizer treatments once in a while) to give gifts to at the end of the year, so I don't spend a ton but I try to remember everyone who takes such good care of my son when I'm not with him.  :)

  5. Bake her a small cake shaped like a heart, HEY, TEACHERS HAVE TO HAVE THERE SUGAR TO!

  6. When i was on kindergarten,i had a really fun teacher and i got her a gift card to the fox and a really big herseys kiss. She had a awsome wild personality. I would sugest some candy and a gift card to the teachers fav store. I hope this helped!

  7. $5 dollars - $10 dollars. money is the best. i heard teachers got $, but not tons, but idk. $ would be the best, or just ask the teacher what they want. u really shouldNT be quessing at gifts i hate that, plz dont give a gift just give the $ its the best 4 real!!!!!!!!!

  8. You could print out a certificate for her.there are speciality shops that have teachers gifts.Even a thank you card and a box of chocys.

  9. personally i got embarrassed when my mom gave my teachers gifts, so i wouldn't recommend it at all. but if you must there are these cool gifts specially for teachers, but i'm not sure where you get them. some of the things that the company makes are chocolates in the form of whole apples, a pencil box with chocolate pencils, and different frames in the form of an apple, and a bunch of other stuff i can't remember, but if you look round on the internet for it you could probably find the site and see wat else they have.

  10. giv her a gift card for Macys

  11. My mom was a kindergarden teacher and she said the best gift she ever got was a class picture mounted on some poster board paper then one of the mom's went around and got all the kids in the class to write (or tell someone to write) their favorite memory about her as a teacher...she still has it 20 years later

  12. My son is five months old so I'm not there yet.  My mom used to get my teachers nice things for their desks.  Fancy pen, a cute paperweight, those desk calenders where your pull of each day it has cute sayings, etc...  Halmark has cute teacher things.

  13. I imagine teachers get so many gifts that they don't know what to do with them.I found a beautiful piece in the Chicken Soup for the Teacher's Soul and it is called The Humble Gift.Perhaps you could copy it out  or even buy the book.I bought this book for my daughter when she graduated teachers college.I don't know about where you live but in my area teachers provide many supplies for their clasrooms. When my grandson was in kindergarten I donated money towards books for the library. You could always make a donation to the school library(in any amount) in her honour.Your son could make her a special card,

  14. Most people tend to buy chocolates or flowers for teachers but I think it's a lot nicer to buy something they can keep. Maybe a nice photoframe, a set of fancy pens (teachers always need those!), a cute keyring or a nice mug. I wouldn't go for anything to personal as it may not be to her taste and obviously you don't want to spend too much - hope these ideas help!
