  1. It really depends on what you want.  If you want your horse stalled with daily turnout and high-quality feed twice a day, with nice facilities (indoor arena, lighted trails, whatever) you could expect to pay $500+ a month.  When we boarded my horse, it was at a smaller stable and she was a pasture horse (pasture access 24/7 with a barn for shelter) fed twice daily for $100 a month (plus vet/farrier when they came). I'd say $200 is probably the average for a smaller barn without very many amenities (maybe just a basic riding arena, etc.).  The main thing is to make sure the barn manager/owner is knowledgeable, the facility seems clean and safe, and the horses housed there look healthy.

Just a side note, but shouldn't you have taken care of the boarding situation BEFORE you got the horse?

  2. i think around these:

DIY: 20-30 including hay and straw a week. then you know you are keeping her at a trusty place. anything less might be a bit c**p

Full Livery: anything from £70 a week. same reasons

hope it gives you some ideas :D

  3. quickly look through all your local horse magazines for livery,  they should show where and facilities available.  perhaps ask other horse owners.  also the local riding or pony club might know of somewhere suitable.

price would be dependent on what services they provide and how you want your horse kept.

hope you find a happy yard.

  4. It depends on where you live and what kind of board.  I've seen field board in the midwest for $80 and show board at a nice Northeast facility for $900.
