Whats a good serger?

I'm geting a serger, I wanted a baby lock but they cost a ton. So whats a good serger to get that is easy to use, Deffently not over 1000, i was hoping to get a good one for 250 or so. Any ideas?

  1. You should look at the Singer lines of Over lock Machines -   Also a "Brother" name brand may offer you a good deal. Go for a 3/4 thread machine with a differential foot.  Go to a good Sewing and Vacuum Centre and most likely they will offer you a guarantee as well as free instructions on how to use and maintain the machine.  Good Luck

I whole-heartily agree with the other posting.  A good sewing and vac store would be your best bet.  I have had my Singer 4-thread, differential feed serger for almost 20 years.  The beauty of the Sewing/Vac store is they may carry used/trade-in models at a lower price.  Another source would be to pick up one of the national sewing magazines: Threads, Sew News, Sew Savey, etc. and check their adds in the back.  You will always find a large add for a company that sells various manufacturer's machine.
