1. If you like musicals, then:

    Rent

    Quote:

This is the film version of the Pulitzer and Tony Award winning musical about Bohemians in the East Village of New York City struggling with life, love and AIDS, and the impacts they have on America.

  2. Shawshank Redemption

  3. Radio is a really good movie!

  4. 8MM- Perhaps the single most depressing movie of all time. Nicholas Cage delivers a breathtaking performance in this total downer."

Hanoi Hilton- "A shocking, eye-opening account of Vietnam POWs in the hands of an enemy who cared nothing for the Geneva Convention."

Saving Private Ryan- "The invasion of Normandy in all its intense horror. One of Tom Hanks' most memorable performances."

Map of The Human Heart- "Another fine WWII movie, and one that most people have never heard of. Extends itself to a much wider scope than most war movies."

Platoon- "The Vietnam war accompanied by Barber's Adigio for strings. None of Oliver Stone's other movies have ever come close to this one."

Leaving Las Vegas- "A story about a man (Nicholas Cage) who goes to Las Vegas to drink himself to death. While there, he meets a prostitute (E Shue) who will do anything to get out of Vegas."

Dead Man Walking- "A gripping story which details the grotesque topic of executing a prisoner (Sean Penn) on death row. Unforgettable."

Last Light- "Not nearly as well known as "Dead Man Walking," but every bit as good. Tells as much about the guard as it does the condemned convict. Sutherland offers a fine acting job."

Last Dance- "Yet another addition to my morbid fascination for execution films. Sharon Stone proves that she is a diversified actress in an unusual role for her."

I know a few more, if you want, I can tell you those too.
