  1. Here ya go a yamaha 250 great bike really hard to kill great on gas mileage and really reliable easy to control and a overall nice bike is also a easy to repair and easy to find parts for/upgrade

    It's a good starter bike

    goodluck

  2. If you've ridden before, and want a sportbike, the 250,500, and 650 kawasaki ninjas are nice bikes, I wouldn't go for the super sports like the R6's and ZX6's, they're more expensive and honestly can be a lot to handle

don't get a harley, they're slow, heavy, and need a lot of maintenance.

Buell makes some good sportbikes, they're a subdivision of Harley I think.

Take an MSF course, it only takes two days and you can get a feel of how powerful motorcycles are...I rode a 125cc something or other and that bike would be fine for running around town and I'm the same size as you(bigger actually, 6'0" 190)

but nobody is going to buy a tiny bike, check out the 650 ninja, you'll probably like it...

IF you haven't ridden, buy a used bike for around 3000 dollars, and learn on it. You'll probably drop it, but hey, that's just what happens when you learn to do new things. You can usually sell a bike like that for what you paid so you won't lose any money.

  3. I was gonna get a new 06' shadow but changed my mind and got a old ride, GS 450 instead. Most likely it will hit the ground sooner or later and it doesn't feel as bad when your looking at a old bike on the ground rather than a new one.

  4. Used bike for sure. I would go with a 82-88 Honda Magna 700- 750. They are great bikes. Yeah unless you have lots of money, extensive mechanical knowledge, and time to work on your bike don't go Harley.

  5. cant go wrong with a harley :)

  6. I got a used 93 Kawasaki EX 500.

(basically a ninja 500 before they called it a ninja 500)

I got it at your age, and now I'm 21... Still have it, and I got a pretty good sunburn on my arms from riding yesterday. Very reliable, fun, and easy to ride. GREAT first road bike.

My only problem with it is now i'm 6'2'', and i'm pretty sure it was actually designed for a 5'6'' Japanese person. Also, the seat is just a quarter inch of rubber.. Not too comfy for long rides.

I think I got the thing for 1,500 and I'm sure I'll get around the same for it when I finally sell it and buy something that fits me better- and thats after 5k miles on the meter of my own. Not bad, eh?

  7. got money go with Harley wide glide

    got need for speed cbr600rr

i started on the the wide glide and have never been down great bike to learn on and my brother started on the 600 and to has never been down but either way go with used and always check if the bike has been down just because the paints fine does not mean the bike is fine so really look into it

  8. hey i own a yamaha r1 and its rocket fast with a top speed of 236. i highly recomend it!
