  1. I'm 16 and I have a 2005 Honda Accord Lx. I love it. The reason my parents picked it out was becuase of the great gas mileage and for the safety features -- it has side airbags. Not all years have the air bags, but all years of the Accord get great gas mileage. They also have a great "life span." I find my car comfy, easy to drive, and an awesome size -- not too big and not too small. It's a great starter car, not to mention reliable, and that's probably why so many people drive them.

On the subject of price, Accords are also affordable. They definitely range between 8 thousand to 20 thousand .. mine was 17 but it had low mileage and was in good condition. Mileage, however, is not so much a factor for these cars, mostly becuase they are very reliable.

    I hope this helps!

  2. Something you can afford, cheap to insure and reliable + good on gas.

I'd recommend a Honda or Toyota. Honda Civics are very reliable, easy to find, cheap to repair and great on gas.
