ts my 21st birthday and i've had a few nice wines in my time but i've never actually looked at the label!

So i want a white wine thats quite sweet, not more than £10 that i can get somewhere like Asda or Morrisons. Even M & S.

Doesnt matter if its sparkling and i was recommended Austrailian wine but cant find anything thats not dry!

Its my bday on the 16h Aug so i need lots of quick responses!!

  1. Oh, birthday girl! You need to get your mouth on some Gewurztraminer, a bit sweeter than Riesling, but not dessert sweet. Not sure if you can get the Fetzer brand in the UK, but it's a great semi-sweet white with a little bubbling from the fermentation process.

A good bottle of Asti Spumate would be a great sweet choice, too. Martini and Rossi is yummy. Bubbly is classy birthday libation.

A bottle of German ice wine would be a great treat also. It's pricier, but worthy for a celebration.

You can sign into Morrisons web site and ask the same questions to the resident wine expert, Arabella Woodrow. She can tell you what will fit your flavor profile and your price range.

  2. Moscato

  3. spanish sweet is the nicest I think - sadly the supermarkets stack everything but sweet usually -despite my protestations and letters, to morrisons in particular.

Those dopes think sweet wine is a desert wine which is far too sweet and sickly.

Talamanco is only 3 pounds ish if you can find it .....

If you can find some its important to deeply chill it then enjoy...... its lovely

  4. Asti Spumanti. Good, sweet, sparkling white wine and cheap.

Can't remember how much, but certainly less than a fiver.

  5. riesling riesling riesling!
