  1. it all depends on how fit you are. my soccer coach cuts people if they cant run it in under 8 minutes. just run everyday and slowly increase ur speed :)

  2. 10 minute miles aren't too hard...just jog lightly the whole time at 6 mph and you will finish at 10 minutes. Make sure you don't stop. It shouldn't be too hard...also sip water throughout.

  3. A good time for a non athlete is around 8 mins for a guy, 10mins for a girl. if you want to be able to run just a mile in this time and stop i suggest maybe running 2-3 miles like 3-4 days a week. if you are a more serious runner i would suggest 5-6 miles 5-6 days a week if you really want to get your mile time down. ive been running xc and track for 6 years now and im a Sr. in High School. my Freshman year i was running 6:15 miles, and now im running 4:50 miles. just shows you if you work hard and keep with it you will get better. Good Luck.

  4. personally, i run the mile in under 5 minutes.

but that's me. i've run xc & track all year round for 3 years in hs.

    i would say for a non-athlete like 8:00-8:30

for an athlete definitely under 8:00

to be comfortable running 10 miles, it doesnt really matter what pace you're running at, just work up to running 10 miles a day starting with one mile. obviously dont run 10 miles every day, but get so that you can run 10 miles comfortably, no matter how slow you have to do them

remember..little steps at a time good luck! =]

  5. Depends what you mean by good.  As long as you're running without stopping...and moving at a reasonable pace...it's a good mile.  12 seems pretty long, you must be stopping.  Even 10 is long.  Just keep a steady, moderate pace and you won't get tired...no need to stop.  Happy trails
