  1. 25.1 is slow for a so called MAN.

im an 8th grader and i run 23.7

but to improve, work on form and speed endurance(150)

  2. A good sophomore time would be a 24 flat. I , a 200 runner myself, would train regularly. but when you run races try to get in a heat with a faster runner and if not beat him try to stay within a steps distance of him so your times will be close.

  3. i'm not sure if you're still in season???

if you are, I say just practice hard in practice, though it might be a little late to start doing that.

I'm a sophomore and I remember working my balls off during the indoor season that even seniors told me I was killing those sprints.

If you're looking for off season help, so am i....

  4. that's good

  5. A good time for HS is under 22 seconds.  For a sophomore I'd say you should goal for under 24 seconds.

A big thing about the 200M is the slingshot effect: it's hard to do, but once u get it you really feel the effect from it.  The theory of it is to try to extend your steps through the first turn in order to set yourself up for the straight.  And while your doing that, you want to begin your turn on the outside of your lane and take the inside of the lane at the end of your turn.

The 100M is much about acceleration and reaction time: being quick out of the blocks, the 200M is much about your overall topspeed.  Your overall top speed has a lot to do with your form, technique, and length.  If you want to improve your overall speed I suggest focusing on these areas and exercises that benefit them: bungee exercises are great as they cover all 3 areas.
