Whats a good way to break into acting?

If you have already done the whole drama class thing and you are good at acting, I suggest auditioning for a disney channel movie.

I'd begin with drama club if you're in High school or a local theatre group. It's  wonderful to be involved in all aspects of theatre from lighting to costuming. You might discover you have a particular affinity for aspects other than acting. This informal atmosphere enables you to have a great comraderie with other like minded individuals. Have fun!

Becoming an actor can take several years! Long wait right?

Well you first have to have lots of experience. And I mean more than one or two plays. I'm talking alot of eperience.  You should also look at acting classes. Once you have that you need to make resume. If you google Acting Resume's there are quit a few to look at. Then you need a head shot and that has to be profesional ( these can cost up to $500+). Once you got that you need a agent. But be warned there a quite a bit of scamers saying that they are legit agents. They will sent out your resume for you to get you big jobs. So the process takes a long time but its all worth it.

Just pursue it, perform, perform in any possible play to get seen by as many people possible... You also have to identify a style that you want. A person, group, or company that really make you think "I want to do that". Find a way to practice with their technique (and i said practice, besides study). Practice is finally what will get you on stage in a solid way. Make yourself clear if you want either a JOB or an artistic activity that will make you happy. Being notorious is not necessary being talented, or, even worse, it will make you compromise many ethical things that you might not like to do or act in plays that you dont really like. The commercial circuit not always cross roads with the pure artistic lane, so you have to be focused in what you deeply wish. Welcome! Best of luck
