Whats a good way to meet new people?

I want to make new friends from scratch and distance myself slightly from the people around me.

+Give advice based on the fact i'm 17 and a tiny bit shy+

I found the best way to meet lots of new people was to get a bar job. I am very shy too, but come out of my shell at work. Im not sure if you can serve alcohol aged 17 so you could try waiting on in a retaurant or pub?

Join some local clubs, things you are interested in. Check out with your local council all the different things in your area......

I don't blame you,I like doing that sometimes too..join a local group, like the YMCA, they sometimes has classes or groups to play sports etc. and you can meet new people that way...join clubs in school like Kiwanis or Sing or something of that nature to meet new people.

I suggest joining a new group or class of some sort, I made a lot of friends when I went down to a local music bar. If you do join a group maybe a drama group would be good , give you more confidence and less shy : )

Just be nice and be less judgemental. Overcome your shyness by doing things that make you feel good and instill pride,,even if you have never done it before. It will atract people to you and you will have the confidence to talk about it to them.

On here !?? Lolz x  No serious .. what do u like doing ! i do professional trampolining at my club and it goes up to 18 year olds? Why not try a club like that !? Or wait till your 18 and then go out clubing ! On the dance floor !? GOOD LUCK IN FINDING NEW FRIENDS X X ! x

Hmmm....When your out and about just be friendly to everyone and smile :) Someones bound to come over and say hey eventually, if not join a nearby youth club or something and get to know people :)
