  1. get a GT crhome :)

  2. why?  get a good motorcycle

  3. First, deterimine what you need the bike for. Commuting quickly on paved roads, doing tricks with your friends, off-road/mountain biking, etc. Figure out if you need or want a single-speed bike, or one with lots of gears.   Then, decide what you want to spend.   After that, go to the various manufacturer websites and compare features of the bikes in the price range you have in mind. For example, if you want an entry level road bike, which is in the $900 to $1200 range, compare what Lemond, Specialized, Trek, Giant, etc. have to offer. You really have to learn the differences between different groups of components on your own, and learn how they compare.  Shimano is a very common maker of derailleurs, cranks, brakes, etc that you will find on many bikes, so you can look at their website and learn about the different qualities, althought the stuff found on cheaper bikes won't even be on there.

  4. Depends what you use it for. City/Street bikes are light and go pretty fast.. I prefer mountain Bikes (look Better)with gear shifting. You are going to want suspension and you should get a frame in relating to your size. Sportsgear bikes are pretty good shinamo is top of the line quality for shifting.

  5. the less moving parts the better[de-railers etc] and longer it will last but it all depends on ya riding terrain also ;)

  6. danscomp.com      is a great website for BMX bikes... the lighter then bike the more money but the lighter the better. A good brand for BMX bikes are eastern they can be a little pricey though.

  7. Get on it and try it out for a "comfy" fit.

  8. depending on your preferances

  9. ride it.

  10. Decide what you want the bike for and your budget, don,t buy  a bike with rear suspension unless most of its use will be off-road, cheap rear sus is generally useless, and heavy.

Visit your local bike shop, look at different styles and makes, don't buy on-line unless you are absolutely sure you can carry out the assembly work required, they always say this is minimal, but they lie!!.

If you must buy on-line have a look at Raleigh.co.uk, you can order and pay on-line and have the bike delivered to your nearest Raleigh dealer, who will assemble it for you, free.
