  1. mine are all custom but if you put where you live i can tell you some places to get a good surfboard at

  2. by the sound of it your new to surfing

    DONT BUY A NEW BOARD

buy a used one or borrow someones

get to know different types of boards : regular shortboard, fish, fun, longboard, funboard, etc.

also, it totally depends on the size of the surf surf

dont buy a new board until you KNOW what you want

dont listen to any of these people

  3. dont try surfing. it sucks

  4. www.scootadook.com

you should find some stuff that totally ripps there.

  5. I would not recommend buying  new board for a beginner over the internet.

First there is no point in getting a new board to learn on.  You're just gonna beat it up anyways.  Save some bucks and buy a decent used board.

Second, you are never sure of the quality of a surfboard unless you can see and feel it for yourself.  A lot of boards sold online are made over seas by people who don't even surf, these are known as pop out boards.  They look just like any other board but use cheaper materials and buying them puts real shapers out of work.

  6. Suggest not buying a new surfboard, or buying online unless you know what you want. Go to any decent local surfshop and get your hands on something relatively cheap and reasonably large and stable! That way it's easier to learn on and if like jules you aren't a fan, you havent invested too much money!!!

  7. you have to be careful buying a surfboard. i wouldnt buy off the web, u wouldnt know how safe the site is for quality boards or if it has been damaged in transit. dont be tempted to buy second hand, either, coz even if it looks ok, it could be rotten on the inside. your first board can last you years, and you will never want to part with it. (give it about a year, and you'll know what i mean!)

i would recommend hiring a board until you know the game, and then investing in a decent board. longboards are best for beginners, as they are stable and catch nice small waves which are brilliant for boosting confidence in the water.

surfing is an amazing sport, and you will get addicted! but sure whats the harm in that? if you do like it, you will end up buying a good board, and doing so is money well spent! you'll be out there everyday, so you'll need a board that's right for you and that is safe. just make sure you know the beach, the currents and take it easy when you're starting out. get lessons if it helps!

    hope i helped a bit!

welcome to the world of surfing! enjoy!! ;)

  8. BUy a used mini-tanker.  Anywhere from 7 to 8 feet with a long board shape. They are easy to learn on because they have the stability of a long board and the manuverability of a short board.

CHeck your classifieds or put a wanted add on Craigslist.com
