I'm not having Alcohol for my wedding ( I dont drink), and the music we are playing will be more classical.

I am looking for ways to entertain my guests for my wedding since we are not planning on having a dance floor etc. Any suggestions will be appreciated!

  1. My Grandmother went to a wedding where the reception included bowling. The couple's religion didn't allow dancing or drinking so this is what they did.

While a bowling party will likely clash with your plans there are other ways to have fun besides drinking.

Maybe you could heir local performers. If there is a traditional dance group in your area you can often heir them to perform at weddings.  A classical singer or live music is always entertaining.

  2. Have disposable cameras at the tables so they can help capture some pics @ your wedding!  Maybe a dance floor would be a good thing to reconsider.

  3. ok I don't want to offend you or anything but if I were you I would think your plans over again. Marriage is suppose to be about compromise. You may not drink and you may not want to dance but that doesn't mean your guest don't want to. Compromise for your guests. If I ever found out a wedding I was invited to was going to be like that I probably would just send my cards and not attend. A wedding is suppose to be memorable, don't let your wedding be remembered as 5 hours of teeth pulling boredom.

  4. While you don't drink, your guests might, so why not have alcohol?  I hardly ever drink at all, maybe just a tiny sip of a glass of wine or a whiskey sour, and jeepers, then I am all tipsy.  And, no dance floor?  Oh me oh my.  Then, perhaps you might consider a DJ with some music videos.  Or, you could consider a game of charades.  Personally, I would have the dance floor so the folks could dance a little bit.

  5. maybe have a video or a slide show going of the two of you growing up  and in your relationship all the way to the wedding

  6. to entertain my guests (we are having the alcohol and dancefloor but just a lil somethinge extra) i hired a frank sinatra impersonator/performer to sing during the main course. maybe you can get your favorite singer or something like that. i went to bubbygram.com  im not sure where u are located but im sure there are other sites that prob cater to your area.

slideshows are great too but after about 5-8 minutes people start to get a lil bored, so be careful on how long they are going to be.  good luck

  7. Will there be no place to dance at all?  I mean maybe with the classical music you can have someone teaching the waltz and fox trot or something?  Maybe have a photo-booth. Also you can set up a picture area where you'll display all pictures of you your fiance your friends and families people will have a blast reliving memories with some soothing classical music in the background.

  8. May be add a swimming pool? or a water hose or something. And why not have games that could be played, with small prises to be won? like a "who knows the bride and groom more" games or "Q&A about your country",

  9. With no alcohol, classical music, and no dancing, plan for a short reception, so your guests won't have to endure the torture of small talk with relatives without the distraction of champagne and the Electric Slide.

Not to diss your reception plans, but even a Scrabble tournament sounds more entertaining...could you please consider at least making the music more fun?  Maybe hire a band that plays non-classical music?

  10. well i would suggest a bouncy thing for kids to jump in a rock climing wall, poker tent or what not, bingo tent,

maybe get a few people dressed up as some sort of charactor for entertainment.

Have the slide shows playing!  put cards on the table!

Have a book for a journal of experince  on each table and let others write down what ever they want!

or put it on paper with holes and have everyone fill out the questionaire or what not.. then you can compile them all together for your own keep sake in a binder!!!
