A land line telephone service is a service that is not cellular

phone service.  Land line service is provided by means of

hard wires, and even over various radio systems, but at the

ends the telephones are connected to the serving telephone

office by telephone cable/wires.

Ok, in the "olden days," cell phones (which used to be called "telephones") were actually connected to each other by HARD WIRES which were strung from house to house to business to pay-phone (uh, look it up.)  And while they were very inconvenient insomuch that you might have to drag the 'phone into the bathroom (running the wire under the door) to have a private conversation, their reception was pretty much 100% clear, virtually no dropped calls, and there was no battery to recharge.

Hmmm, might be a good idea.  "Everything old is new again."
