  1. its the biggest board in your computer.

  2. A mother board is the main board inside your computer, that everything get connected to, the CPU, the ram, the hard drives, power supply, etc

  3. The motherboard is the main board in your computer (the largest board in a typical computer).  The reason the graphic card seller is asking is that motherboards can have a different slot type for the video card.  Some older motherboards won't have any dedicated video card slot and you would then be forced to work with a PCI (not PCI Express) video card.  I'd recommend posting your computer information (i.e. Dell Optiplex ###, HP Pavilion ###, etc...) and someone can point you in the right direction.  Some sites will offer a wizard/tool to help figure out a compatible card too.

  4. The motherboard is the main circuit board inside your computer that everything else plugs into. The motherboard would have the slots on it (PCI, PCI-X, AGP, etc) where you'd plug the graphics card in.  If you're trying to figure out the model of motherboard you have in order to determine graphics card compatibility, you should see something like "Press F8 to enter setup" when you first turn your computer on.  The model of your motherboard should be listed on the main screen in that menu if you press F8 (or whatever function key it tells you to press).

  5. It's the big board of circuits that houses and connects EVERYTHING. It's basicly the veins of a computer.
