Question:

Whats a natural way to get rid of constipation?

It's very painful and my stomach is swollen, I haqve no laxatives or anything in the house and it's too late to go out and get some what are some methods to relive it- either natural, around the house, movements etc

  1. Eat prunes , stay away from alot of dry foods, & drink alot of water.

  3. I would apply some form of heat yo your abdomen. Do it in increments though.

  4. Its been 3months now that im not constipated already.. i just change my lifestyle by drinking water 10 glasses aday..I always have fruits especially ripe papaya in my table everday and i  also used c-lium fiber once a day..im sure you  will not suffer from constipation if u wil try this..

  6. I ate 5 or 6 dried plums (prunes) once and went #2 like 3 times thru the day  lol   After that I only eat a couple at a time.

    Walking around a lot, jogging, running, working out.. all that helps get it moving thru your system.

    Fiber helps!     Buy some 'Fiber One' cereal... it has half the fiber you need in a day.  I had your problem last week, ate that 2 mornings in a row, and the problem was solved.  Get the "Honey Clusters" one... its pretty good if you dont mind whole grain flakes

  8. Try some Fiber you cant get too much. You can eat foods with it in it or get a suppliment. There is this stuff called Benefiber its colorless and tasteless, you can pretty much add it to any food or drink. I would just put that in everything you eat or drink for the next couple of days. If that doesnt work then I would concider going to the doctor. They can prescribe you a good medication. Some can irritate your bowels, Colace is a really good laxative. You can usually buy it at your local drug store. Drink LOTS of water, go excercizing even if it is just a walk, when you sleep try laying on your left side that is the way your bowels drain. Also Epsom salt is a good one. It tastes nasty but you usually have a BM within a day at LEAST. Other than that I dont know what to tell you. Good luck tho! Happy Pooping. :)

  13. Prunes which is what they suggest after surgery to help with constipation, black coffee can help. If you have Epsom salt, a glass of that dissolved in water will do it too. Or if your not opposed to it, a good e***a.

  14. Fiber,fiber,fiber...Fiber1Cereal is a great way to get alot of fiber and it is really good. Well the Oat Cluster kind is anyway. That and a well balanced diet should get things going again!

    You could also eat roast beef thats gone a little bad... the food poisoning will have you coming and going from both ends.

  28. I don't know if you would have it around the house. But as to a natural laxative. If you have a constant problem. You would want to get on a routine of eating something like Actavia yogurt and take stool softeners each morning. If you have only bouts of constipation get an herb called "Cascara Sagrada" at the health food store. Take this to clean yourself out and drink plenty of water, so the stool doesn't dry out and make it hard to come out and painful. It can be very uncomfortable to be chronically constipated and can lead to serious complications if left untreated like compaction.... A person should have at least one bowel moment per day, if you don't you are not regular....if you get on a routine, your body will adj. and you will have a reg. movement about the same time each day. One thing of course is Prunes and some such natural fruit... but, if you are not used to eating these kinds of fruits, they will make you VeRY gassy and you will feel bloated on top of the other problem... so you need move out first and then, to keep reg. you can eat these fruits if this is your choice of preventative measures..
