Whats a nice beach in the southern california area?

the nearest beach to where i live is huntington beach, but i want a more romantic beach where there is good stores and a great pier maybe something in orange county... ive been to santa monica and i love it but i want something new..

You should definitely go to Manhattan Beach...It's one of my favorite beaches ever. It's like two beaches in one -- there's a very private section, and there's a very public (tourist-like) section, as well.

Byfar the nicest beach I've been to is the one in La Jolla (San Diego). It's very romantic and extremely clean -- so clean that people hold weddings there!

If you're looking for a beach near the OC, I would suggeset Dana Point Harbor (a major spot for boats/cruises) or Corona Del Mar (awesome views). There's also Balboa Island, which is accessible from Newport Beach via ferry boat or access road, offers beaches, shopping and many restaurants.

I was going to say Huntington.

If you have already been to Huntington and Santa Monica, then check out Newport and Balboa. Those are the next best.

Well personally I don't think any of the beaches in southern California are great. But I still have a few personal favorites. One may be the Malibu state beach, this non-polluted beach has nice slightly large waves but still can accommodate surfers on the rockier end. If you want romance there is a nice small pier where there are some shops and lights. And don't forget that it is Malibu. Next is is Redondo Beach. This beach is nice and has waves and are very romantic for couples. The beach is also close to a green pier where there are plenty of sea-side shops via. the great shops right across the street from it. Lastly is Venice Beach. It is nice and right next to the boardwalk which is somehow strange yet nice and romantic as well. The beach has swaying palm trees and lots of nice soft sand. Hope I help!

i would say La Jolla beach is the nicest if you want something in orange county or Dana Point. they are right next to each other. && they have great stores & food. hope that helped :]
