  1. You have asked two separate questions.

Someone who researches the paranormal could be called a number of things--paranormalist or parapsychologist fit the bill pretty well.

However, those who try to try to explain the unusual are not the same as those who try to prove ghosts are real.

Trying to explain that which is real and observed employs science to make sense of data and draw a conclusion based on that data.  If you start with the conclusion (i.e. ghosts are real) and just look for data that might support it while ignoring all other data (i.e. there is not any evidence that ghosts exist), then you're a ghost hunter and not much more than a charlatan deserving of ridicule.

  2. A Paranormal Researcher

  3. Paranormal Investigator or Parapsychologist.

  4. It depends. Paranormal investigators and reseachers are often terms for people that look into unexplained events but they don't do this for a living. Early (1800's) people that did this were called psychical researchers (again they had other jobs).

People that research currently unexplained human abilities are called parapsychologist (or at least working in the field of parapsychology).

For more information on this see the web site for the

    Parapsychological Association http://www.parasych.org

Few researchers try to prove anything rather science is a method of examining evidence to attempt to explain an event (like a person seeing a ghost) those who attempt to find explanations are called scientist. Those who dismiss all such claims as not worthy of study are called debunkers (which often call themselves skeptics).

  6. Either "Disappointed" or "Credulous", but not both.

  7. Ghost Buster

  8. That career is called parapsychology and the people who study that career is called parapsychologist.

    =)

  9. Unemployed.

  10. It is varied actually.  The term paranormal researcher refers to someone who likes to research or investigate things that are "para" or above the normal.

Its sort of like saying" I work in construction".  The natural next question would be...What type of construction do you do?

All investigators do different things just as carpenters or bricklayers all do a different job.  Hopefully in the end all the different facets merge to form a conclusion.

  11. Well, very few people make a career out of it. Most of them just do it as a hobby out of thier own pocket.

    They are called paranormal investigators.

If you are lucky enough to be on a tv show, or have a book deal, then you can make a living doing it. Otherwise, you are just spending your own money to do the investigations.

  12. "Scam Artist"

  13. A fake!

  14. A loser.

  16. They're are called a Parnormal Resercher...and people who investigate hauntings are called Ghost Hunters or Paranormal Investigators.....
