Whats a personality disorder??

I read what a personality disorder is on wikipedia but i dont understand what it is still. Can anyone tell me what it is?

Found nine nutshell definitions on google. If none of those make any sense I will update this. Here's one:

A deeply ingrained, inflexible, maladaptive pattern of relating, perceiving and thinking serious enough to cause distress or impaired functioning.
