Whats a physical exam? and what do they do?

A physical exam is when a doctor or nurse practitioner examines you head to toe making sure you are growing and developing as you should be. If it's for sports, they will also make sure that you are healthy enough to play. Usually if you are due for any immunizations (shots) they will give them to you at this time as well.  This is a good time to tell the doc/np if you have any concerns about your health.

you mean like a check-up? Well if it is then they just check you like a normal physical.

It depends on how old you are. If you are a teenager or sexually active you may have a pap and breast exam. In a pap test the doctor will use a speculum and insert it into your v****a. The doctor should tell you what he is going to do before he does it. The doctor should teach you how to do self breast exam and why they are important to do both test. they should do a weight, ht. blood pressure. Just to make for sure you are in good health. If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask them.
