  1. The protagonist is the main character...normally the hero or the good person and in this case is rebecca.

The antagonist is the enemy..the person theyre against.

Examples: Batman is the antagonist and The Joker is the antagonist.

  2. protagonist is the main character and good guy or hero

the antagonist is the villain of the story, normally against the main character/protagonist.

  3. Protagonist is the main character (NOT always the hero) and the antagonist is the person against the main character.

  4. The protagonist is the main character and the antagonist is the main character's enemy.

    For example:

    Harry Potter- Protagonist

    Voldemort- Antagonist

HINT: Take the 'ist' off the end of Antagonist and you have Antagon. Add 'ize' at the end and you have antagonize. Just think of it that way. The Antagonist is the bad guy whom  'antagonizes' the good guy.
