  1. A long time ago my friend did a project she titled "The Dills are Alive with the Sound of Music."  She made a fantastic backdrop that looked like the sound of music movie title for her display.  She tested how dill plants grew with different types of music played to them: rock, classical, none, etc.  There was definitely a difference in the plant growth.  She won first place.  Good luck!

  2. osmosis demonstartion w/ an egg n vinegar is unique???

  3. I once had a fifth grader ask, "Does adding food color to the water change the color of Dry Ice Fog?"  They just used their eyes, and came up with "No."  But I've always wondered if there is a subtle effect, and I've thought out the whole experiment, but I don't think anyone has ever done it.

    Read both links.

The second one has more details, including background information on light and how to use excel to analyze the data.

I've been teaching science for 20 years, and I think, if well executed, this experiment could win a regional science fair, but it would be pretty easy to do.

  4. In High School my partner and I did some experiment were we tested the effects of soda on teeth.  I can't remember the specifics of it, but I got actual teeth from my uncle who is a dentist.  With your experiment, think about what you want to test and find out more about.  And ask questions!
