The HEAVIEST band I know of is 'The Berzerker', their drummer frequently  damages his ankles and wrists after concerts - and in some cases breaks them! Go on Youtube to check it out.

It depends on what your taste is, really.

Screamo bands would look towards the area of Avenged Sevenfold or Atreyu. The Human Abstract's "Vela, Together We Await The Storm" is considered quite a heavy song, especially when contrasted with its piano intro. Destroy the Runner also has some heavy songs. You could look into those bands.

For the non-screaming ones, Metallica has some heavy material, as does Megadeth. Trivium is half-screaming, and is considered by some not to be heavy. You can decide that for yourself. Also, old System of a Down songs can be considered heavy.
