Whats a reasonable time for cross country?

i'm 14yrs old

about 5" 4 and 110 pounds

i'm not fit...i ran the mile in 9minutes but that was the only time i was able to complete the mile w/o walking half of it....

wats a reasonable 5k time for me to get??

what about a reasonable goal?

  1. A reasonable time for you to get would be around 30min.

    I strongly recommend you to practice doing the 5k and run a lot to build up your endurance.  Running the 5k is really hard if you cannot set a good pace.

    A reasonable goal time is 27 minutes.  Try to decrease your mile time to about 8 min.  If you're a beginner, a little practice goes a long way.


  2. To be able to compete in high school you need to be able to run at least a 25 for a 5k. Thats about 8 minute miles for 3 miles.

  3. try to get it under or around 30 minutes. If you can do that then slowly try to lower your time each race. A goal for the end of the season could be 25-26 minutes. In between, try to run each mile in 9 minutes
