  1. What's a barn name?  I register all my dogs with CKC, AKC or ADBA.  I tell new puppy owners to pick a new name if they don't llike the birth name that I gave the pups.  The birth name is the way I tell them apart.  It's not permanent, but the pups and the new owners get the registration papers.  I leave it up to them to register and/or pick a new name.

  2. Well, when you register a rabbit, the name really shouldn't be any different from the barn name.

But maybe you're talking about this:

When a reputable breeder produces a purebred, pedigreed rabbit, they put their name on it. For example, if the breeder's rabbitry is called Hip Hoppin Lops Rabbitry, they may choose a prefix of HHL's. If so, the HHL prefix will be placed in front of the name of each rabbit they produce. So if a rabbit is born there, and they name it Spot, it's "barn name" will just be Spot. But on the pedigree, it will appear as HHL's Spot.

If the rabbit is registered, its name will appear as HHL's Spot.

This prefix is basically just there for the purpose of credit to the breeder for producing that rabbit from their herd.

  3. Dunno, but if you're getting a rabbit, you should make it pure white, and name it Chappy.

    you would be my hero.

    bahahah.
