Whats a retainer like and do your teeth hurt when you first get your retainer?

im getting my braces off in 2 weeks and i have to wear a retainer.

Well it depends on the type of retainer

its a little sore the first day or two you have it because it will be a little tight

and you'll always feel it there

you might even talk funny( ididn't have this prob, but some do)

but you get used to it really quickly

but word of advice

no matter what

ALWAYS WEAR IT

because if you don't you'll have to get braces all over again

a retainer is kinda like a mold for your teeth. It shouldn't hurt because it is just helping your teeth stay and not go back to the way they were before braces. It would only hurt if the retainer was not made right or if you are not wearing it enough and your teeth starts to move back.
