  1. typically a shimmy is caused by a very worn tire , or a tire that is seperating. be careful with the dodge vehicles, they also have transmission vibration issues.

  2. A shimmy is a very small rodent that like to get inside tires and spin around with the tire.  They like the head rush.. Ok if its just a tire that is causing a vibration while driving.. AT the very least check the balance its cheap go to a tire shop and ask them to do that.  If it needs a new tire put a used one on JUST to see if its really a tire causing the problem.  Patching a top is better than no patch at all.
