Whats a traditional Japanese food similar to onigiri?

I already made onigiri(GREAT!!!!)

now i wanna make sumthing else Jaanese thats everyday like onigiri

i want 2 make sumthing w/ simple ingredients, and not too complicated steps

and w/ out sea weed, or at least u can take the sea weed out w/ out changing it up 2 much

  3. you can make it without the seaweed.

    you can put pickled vegetables of your choice inside the rice ball, pickled/dried plums or kimchi is common =)

  4. What about one of my favorite side dishes... Edamame beans?  They are soy beans that have been steamed and then salted.  It is so easy and they are so good.  Just go to the freezer section of your grocery store, purchase a bag, plunk in a pot with some water, steam them, salt them and enjoy.  The beans pop right out of shell (use your teeth for this) and have a really delicious nutty flavor.  Everytime we go out we order some for the table and I make them often at home.

    Here in Japan they are an everyday favorite.  Oishi desu!  :-)
