  1. It's been a long time, but as I remember it, they're the ones that are on the outer edges of the atom, and which ultimately get shared when bonds are formed.


  2. valence electrons means the outer most electrons present in an atom.

    these participate in the reaction.this is either giving or taking (ionic bonding) or sharing (covalent bonding) after this ,the atoms become ions i.e they become positively or negitively charged.hope this helps!!!
