Whats a website that i can look up a certain insect that i have seen but dont know what it is?

The easiest to use would be Bugguide.net.  Just search for what type of insect you think it is, like a beetle if it has hard outer wings.  It will show pictures you can look through to find you insect.  

If you have no idea use whats that bug and dream up your own common name.  Use whats that bug.  A good example is if you find a bug that smells when you touch it look up stink bug.

An almanac specific to your area? Try searching for a list of insects in your state or check at the library.
