the cost of plane tickets can be researched at an airline home website (ie qantas.com or singaporeairlines.com) or my personal favourite...www.webjet.com.au

I'd rather have a ticket with hot caramel, whipped cream, sprinkles and a cherry on top.  Plain is just boring.

It is advisable to check with the airline website prior to going to sites like travelocity and orbitz.   I've found direct purchases to be the best priced tickets.   Also, some air carriers like Southwest do not list on the ticket websites.
