Whats a wish list for, you know like on shopping web sites .?

i am con fused with the wishlist and the add to cart, if its on the wish list whats the use of there being a wish list,whats the wish list for ?

a wish list is for stuff you can't buy yet. the cart is for stuff you can and want to buy now. most people can't get everything they want right away. only the rich can.
