  1. The mean average is all the scores of a group added togther and divided by the number.

  2. The average means how well the average student did. And that depends on how hard the test is.

For a test to be really good, the average student should get around 75.

And NOBODY should get 100!  If you get 100 on a test that means you're smarter than the test, in other words the test didn't really determine how well you know the material.  You could easily get 100 on a test for 2nd-graders, or on a test for 4th graders. Does that mean you're as smart as the smartest 2nd grader or the smartest 4th grader?  You're probably a lot smarter than ANY 2nd or 4th grader, but the test doesn't show that.

    If the average student gets 75, then 90-100 is an A, 80-90 is a B, 70-80 is a C, 60-70 is a D, and below 60 is failing.

If the teacher said most of the class got above average, right away that is a misleading statement.  What he/she really meant was that the class's average is above what he or she was expecting.  Which is good!

  3. i think probably from like a 75 to a 80 85 or 90

not sure but i think i'm right

    hope this helped!!!

    :D

  4. It depends on your grade level and the difficulty of the test, personally, 80 should be the lowest score of any test you have taken, as long as you were given time to study the subject that the test is on that is.

  5. It is impossible to say that the most of the class scored above average on a test.  You can tell your teacher that... she will be impressed.  In order to be above average you need to have scored higher than most.  It is possible for a specific student to have scored above average, but not most of the class.  The avergae will be higher if most of the class scored really well.

    For example,

Lets say the average score was 80.  That means when you add up all of the scores and divide by the number of student that took the test, the average score was 80.  That means that about half of the class scored above 80 and the other half scored less than 80.  The average would be in the middle of everyone.
