He is an awesome running back but with no QB, the D's will focus on him. So my guess is he will have 1 good game and then one bad game. He will be inconsistent all year unless they find a QB who could throw the ball. plus he is injury prone. He should be a 5-10 best back at best... what do you guys think? yay or nay??

  1. I'd have to agree. Those are all good points, especially the one about being injury prone. Peterson is definitely a good running back, but I'd much rather have LT, Jackson, Addai and Westbrook. People have got to look at the big picture. The running backs I mentioned are not only involved the running game, but the passing game as well. I don't see Peterson as a great receiving back. Also, Taylor might steal some carries in the red zone.

  2. he posted unbelievable numbers in limited action last year. i can understand the hype, though i wouldnt take him if i had the number 1 pick. but last year some of the top 5-7 running backs were a little iffy, so i think hes a reasonable anywhere from 2-7.

  3. Walter Payton  put up huge numbers with QB's that were every bit as bad or worse than T. Jackson. They have a great Off. Line and an improving WR corp. (Berrian) They will have a great defense and will be pounding the rock a lot. He proved last year that even when they put 8-9 men in the box, that he can still beat them. I am not a Vikings fan at all, in fact i hate them, but he is possibly the most gifted runner i have ever seen, including the great Walter Payton.

  4. if hes a back to himself as long as he stays healthy minn will be relying on their run game a lot. if he splits then theres no reason for him to go one but certainly dont let him drop too far

  5. I am too worried about him getting injured!!  He is GREAT though.  I would take him after #1 because that is still reserved for LT.

  6. I agree w/ most of what you are saying, however, I would put him at @#5.  I would also add that Minn. continues to use a 2 RB system which takes away from his stats as well.

  7. I understand all the hype, with his great rookie season and all, but all of those points that you made are great.

The first pick should be Brady, Moss, Peyton Manning, or somebody like that. Peterson probably will have a solid season, but defenses will start focusing on him more and he won't be running for 200+ yards/game again.
