Its like a whole in your stomach? thats what my mom said because she has one, but can you die from it????? She pukes blood and says shes ok.plz answer ps im 14...

an ulcer is a hole in your stomach. not usually fatal. blood in vomit or stool is bad and should be told to a doctor soon.

It can be a serious problem but not usually. Your mom should not lay down after she eats. She should go to the doctor.

Basically, you can ge an ulcer almost anywhere, but it's common for people to get them in their stomachs.  It's kind of like a hole in the stomach - techinically, it's a hole in a few layers of tissue that takes a longer than average time to heal.  Usually ulcers bleed.  

People do not typically die from stomach ulcers, although they can be really painful!  As long as your mom is seeing a doctor and is being treated she will be OK. If she is not seeing a doctor, encourage her to go to one so she can be sure it's an ulcer and not something else.
